It’s a goal of mine to perform my music there though! Releasing my debut single has also been a highlight and the start of something great (I hope).ġ6. What’s been the highlight of your musical journey so far? I got to sing one song at Enmore Theatre with my friends to open for Alison Wonderland in 2018. It taught me to value my own opinion above what others think.ġ5. What’s the best advice you’ve been given in your career? If you love the song enough to release it and be okay with it flopping, then release it. It was pretty much a coin toss situation that led me to where I am now!ġ4. I was already set on studying at AFTRS but then got an offer to the Conservatorium’s contemporary music course. What would your chosen career be if music wasn’t an option? I almost pursued a career in film, so probably that. I used to work as a fairy for birthday parties! My fairy voice is like a customer service voice on crack, and I can face paint like a boss.ġ3. Give us a little fun fact about yourself that people might not know. I used to listen to it to go to sleep.ġ2. What was the first album you ever bought? I can’t remember, so I asked my mum and she said the first album I ever asked for was a collection of Dean Martin songs, so she burnt them onto a CD for me. Who are your go-to artists when you’re feeling:ġ1. Where’s your favourite place to listen to music? In my car after I get home, before I go inside.ġ0.
‘Boom Boom Pow’ by the Black Eyed Peas was my 12yo jam, and I’ll never skip ‘Chocolate’ by The 1975.Ġ9. I was also obsessed with ‘Dream Glow’ by Charli XCX and BTS last year. What are your favourite songs of all time? ‘Both Sides Now’ by Joni Mitchell is one of my favourite songs lyrically. Outside of that, though, I love songwriters like Julia Michaels, Joni Mitchell, and Taylor Swift!Ġ8. Who have been your musical influences? Tinashe, Charli XCX, Ariana Grande, and Terror Jr have all been strong influences on this project. What’s your earliest musical memory? Singing ‘Hello World’ from the Saddle Club at my first singing concert when I was seven, forgetting the lyrics, crying on stage, my classmates coming up and singing with me (I was the youngest by a few years). I have a lot of fun writing music in this style and I know I will love performing it.Ġ6. We were both inspired by similar artists and loved the same songs and naturally fell into this vibe. I started working with my producer and co-writer Harry James in 2019, and it was a journey for both of us to develop this sound. I’ve always loved pop music and pop songwriting. I joined the stage band when I was in year four as the singer, initially because I wasn’t good enough at the piano but still wanted to be included.įrom there, I became passionate about songwriting and pop music, so I started collaborating and writing and experimented until I got here! I’ve been fortunate with the opportunities I’ve had and the people who have supported me.Ġ4.
